water is leaking from the bottom front of the machine onto the floor.

DIAGNOSIS A front-bottom leak has several likely sources. The hierarchy is: 1) Over-sudsing from too much detergent, 2) A loose or damaged inlet hose connection, 3) A failed drain pump filter seal or hose, 4) A crack in the outer tub.

FIX Step 1: Verify you are using High Efficiency (HE) detergent only, and no more than 2 tablespoons. Run a rinse and spin cycle to clear suds. Step 2: Unplug machine. Check where the fill hoses connect to the back of the washer. Tighten by hand. Check the drain hose connection at the pump. Ensure it is fully seated in the port.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Access the drain pump filter. It is behind the small kickplate at the lower front right. Place towels down. Unscrew the filter cap slowly to release residual water. Inspect the seal on the cap for cracks or debris. Clear any obstructions from the filter. Re-seat the cap tightly.

HEADS UP If leaking continues after checking hoses and filter, the leak is likely internal (tub seal or tub crack). This requires major disassembly. Look for traces of fabric softener or lint inside the cabinet, which indicate a leak path from the dispenser or tub.
