Diagnosis
The scooter's Bluetooth module isn't broadcasting, often because it's in a dormant state or there's a firmware mismatch.
How to Fix It
Force a fresh Bluetooth broadcast by power cycling the scooter with a specific sequence.
- Turn the scooter ON.
- Open the Hiboy app and start the search.
- While searching, turn the scooter OFF and then immediately back ON. Do this 2-3 times.
- The scooter should appear as "S2" or "Hiboy" in your phone's Bluetooth list. Connect there first, then return to the app.
If That Didn't Work
The Bluetooth module firmware may need a kick. Fully charge the scooter, then hold the power and mode buttons together for 15 seconds until all lights cycle. Try connecting again.
Heads Up
The Hiboy app is notoriously finicky. Use the standard phone Bluetooth pairing menu first; the app often can't initiate the handshake on its own.
