Quick answer: The machine has a built-in safety tilt and overheat cut-off. If it's not perfectly level or if the rear intake is blocked, it will shut down automatically.

Diagnosis

The machine has a built-in safety tilt and overheat cut-off. If it's not perfectly level or if the rear intake is blocked, it will shut down automatically. This is not a timer function.

How to Fix It

Check placement and clearance first.

  • Ensure the machine is on a hard, flat, level surface. Thick carpet can tilt it slightly.
  • Pull it at least 3 feet (1 meter) away from any walls, curtains, or furniture. The rear intake needs massive clearance.
  • Remove anything that could be blocking the intake grille on the back of the base (like a couch cushion, blanket, or toy).
  • Clean the pre-filter. A clogged filter causes overheating and automatic shutdown.

If That Didn't Work

The internal thermal cut-off might be overly sensitive due to a failing sensor. This is a deeper fault. Note if it happens more often on high heat settings. If so, it requires service.

Heads Up

The "Auto" mode in heating will also make the fan seem like it's "off." It lowers the fan to the minimum speed to maintain temperature. Check if the heating light (amber) is still on. If it is, the machine is still on, just in low-output mode.
