my ninja air fryer max xl just beeps three times and won't start cooking, the display is on but nothing happens when i press start

DIAGNOSIS The unit is stuck in a pre-start safety lock. This almost always means the basket isn't seated correctly in the drawer, or the drawer isn't fully pushed into the base.

FIX

  • Pull the drawer out completely.
  • Take the basket out and re-seat it firmly into the drawer. You should feel and hear a distinct click.
  • Push the loaded drawer back into the unit until it clicks and locks into place. Don't be gentle.
  • Now try setting the time/temp and pressing Start. The three-beep error should be gone.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Check for food debris or grease on the black plastic guide rails inside the unit where the drawer slides in. Even a small obstruction can prevent the drawer from triggering the internal safety switch. Clean the rails with a damp cloth.

HEADS UP Never force the drawer. If it won't click in smoothly, something is misaligned or obstructing it. Forcing it can break the plastic latch mechanism.
