DIAGNOSIS The monitor is receiving power and the backlight may be on, but the LCD panel isn't getting a valid video signal. The most common cause is a loose or faulty HDMI/DisplayPort cable connection.

FIX

  • Power cycle the entire setup. Turn off the monitor and your PC/gaming console. Unplug the video cable from both ends.
  • Firmly reconnect the HDMI or DisplayPort cable at both the monitor and your source device. Ensure it's fully seated.
  • Turn on your source device first, wait for it to fully boot, then turn on the monitor.
  • If you're using HDMI, try a different input port (HDMI 1 vs. HDMI 2) on the monitor.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The issue could be the source device's output resolution or refresh rate. Boot your PC in safe mode or connect to another monitor/TV and lower the resolution to 1920x1080 @ 60Hz, then reconnect to the Sceptre.

HEADS UP The built-in speakers will play audio even if the screen is black because they receive a separate audio signal via the HDMI/DisplayPort cable—this confirms the cable is connected but the video handshake failed.
