Diagnosis
The washer isn't reaching high-speed spin. Most likely cause is an unbalanced load triggering the out-of-balance protection. The washer tries to redistribute, then defaults to a low-speed spin.
How to Fix It
Stop the cycle and open the door. Redistribute the clothes evenly around the drum. Avoid washing a single heavy item like a rug or comforter alone. Close the door and press Start to resume the spin. For a normal mixed load, this usually resolves it.
If That Didn't Work
Check the drain pump filter and drain hose for a partial clog. A restricted drain can prevent the washer from properly sensing the water level before the spin, causing it to abort. Clean the filter located behind the small kickplate at the bottom front.
Heads Up
Consistently overloading the washer or washing bulky items alone will cause this repeatedly. It damages the suspension rods and shock absorbers over time.
