the speakers on my sceptre 27 inch monitor sound tinny and awful, is there a setting i'm missing?

— asked by Jamie

DIAGNOSIS The built-in 2W speakers are fundamentally low-power and lack bass. There's no hidden setting to dramatically improve them; they're designed for basic system sounds, not media or gaming audio.

FIX Bypass them entirely.

  • Connect external speakers or headphones directly to your PC, console, or a dedicated audio interface. This is the only way to get good sound.
  • If you must use the monitor's audio pass-through: connect your audio source (like a PC's headphone jack) to the monitor's 3.5mm AUDIO IN port using an auxiliary cable. Then, in your PC's sound settings, set the output to that device.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If external audio connected to your PC still sounds bad, the issue is your source file or PC sound drivers, not the monitor.

HEADS UP The monitor's volume is controlled by its OSD buttons, not your Windows volume slider. If using the monitor's speakers, press the 'Menu' button, navigate to 'Audio', and adjust volume there.
