Diagnosis
The blade assembly is likely damaged or the bearing has worn out, causing imbalance and excessive vibration.
How to Fix It
Inspect and replace the blade.
- Unscrew the blade assembly from the pitcher.
- Check for bent or cracked blades. Spin the assembly by hand—it should turn smoothly and silently.
- If it grinds, catches, or wobbles, the bearing inside the blade unit is shot.
- Order a genuine Hamilton Beach replacement blade assembly for your specific model. Do not use generic blades.
If That Didn't Work
The issue might be in the motor base. With the pitcher removed, run the base on low speed. If it still makes a rough, grinding noise, the motor coupler or bearings in the base are failing.
Heads Up
Never run the blender if it's violently shaking. Turn it off immediately. Continuing can damage the motor alignment and break the plastic drive socket on the pitcher.
