How to Fix It
- Unplug the grill and let it cool completely.
- Remove the Smart Cook System lid. Carefully inspect the fan housing at the top rear. Use a flashlight to look for any loose food debris, a piece of foil, or a small bone that may have gotten sucked up.
- If you see debris, use long tweezers or compressed air to gently remove it. Do not spin the fan blade with your fingers.
If That Didn't Work
The noise may be internal. With the unit unplugged, gently try to wiggle the fan blade. If it has noticeable side-to-side play or feels gritty when turned, the fan motor bearing is likely failing and requires service.

A consistent, powerful whooshing sound is normal—that's the convection system. The abnormal sound is a distinct metallic rattle or grinding that changes with fan speed.
