why does my v11 torque drive pulse on and off when i’m using it on carpet?

— asked by Taylor

DIAGNOSIS That’s Auto mode working as designed—poorly. The laser dust sensor thinks the carpet is a “high-dust” area and is cycling to max power, which feels like a pulse.

FIX Manually switch out of Auto mode. Press the power button to turn it on, then immediately press the mode button to cycle to Eco or Boost for steady power. You’ll have to do this every time you use it.

IF THAT DIDN’T WORK The issue might be compounded by a slightly full bin or a dirty filter making the sensor overreact. Empty the bin and tap out the filter.

HEADS UP Running constantly in Boost mode will drastically cut your runtime; Eco is usually sufficient for carpets.
