The brush bar control is likely off, or there is a severe obstruction.
Fix: Follow this checklist.
- Brush bar button: Ensure the brush bar control button on the left side of the handle is turned ON.
- Suction control slider: Check the slider on the front of the cleaner head. For low-pile carpets, it should be in the center position.
- Clear obstruction: Unplug the machine. Lay it on its back. Press the button on the back of the cleaner head, push the end cap up 90°, and pull the brush bar out. Remove any wrapped hair, thread, or debris. Push the brush bar fully back in and rotate the end cap until it clicks.
- Reattach head: Slide the cleaner head onto the front of the ball and push up until the red button underneath clicks.
If that didn't work: A blockage elsewhere in the machine can cause loss of suction, making the brush bar seem inactive. Check the wand, hose, and main airways for obstructions as per the full blockage procedure.
Heads up: For deep-pile carpets or delicate flooring, the brush bar should be turned OFF using the button on the handle to prevent damage.
