dyson v8 battery died and won't charge, light isn't doing anything. is it broken?

— asked by Ben

Check the ambient temperature. The machine won't operate or charge below 5°C (41°F).

FIX: Move the machine and charger to a warmer environment, above 5°C (41°F). Connect it to the charger. The battery LED should flash blue while charging. A full charge takes approximately 4 hours. The light turns off when charging is complete.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK:

  • Check the battery LED. A flashing blue light indicates a battery fault.
  • Ensure all connections are secure. The charger can be used directly or in the dock.
  • Try changing the battery. Push the battery release button on the handle and slide the battery off. Align a second battery and slide it in until it clicks.

HEADS UP: The battery is designed to stop charging when complete. Returning the machine to the dock after use helps maintain battery life.
