This behavior—where the Eufy RoboVac G30 Edge powers on for a few seconds and then abruptly shuts down—is typically indicative of a "voltage drop" failure. When you press the clean button, the vacuum attempts to engage the main brush motor and the high-suction vacuum motor. These components require a significant surge of current. If the lithium-ion battery pack has degraded or a cell has failed, it may hold enough surface charge to power the LED lights and the motherboard (making it seem "on"), but as soon as the motors draw power, the voltage crashes below the critical threshold, triggering an automatic safety shutdown to prevent board damage. Alternatively, this can be caused by a "dirty contact" loop. If the charging pins on the bottom of the G30 or the spring-loaded pins on the HomeBase are oxidized or coated in a layer of fine dust, the robot may report a full charge while docked, but it isn't actually receiving the necessary amperage to saturate the cells. This results in a battery that is effectively empty despite the dock indicating it is connected. You can confirm this by attempting to start the vacuum while it is still physically touching the charging pins; if it stays on while docked but dies immediately upon being pushed an inch away, the battery is the culprit.
How to Fix It
Follow these precise steps to restore power stability to your G30 Edge:
- Power down the unit completely using the physical power switch located on the side of the chassis.
- Locate the two silver metallic charging contact plates on the underside of the vacuum. Use a cotton swab dipped in 70% or 91% isopropyl alcohol to scrub these plates until they are shiny and free of residue.
- Clean the two protruding spring-loaded pins on the charging dock. Ensure they spring back freely when pressed; if one is stuck in a recessed position, gently wiggle it with a toothpick to release it.
- Place the G30 Edge onto the dock, ensuring the contacts are perfectly aligned. Look for the steady blue charging indicator light.

If That Didn't Work

- Inspect the Main Brush for Obstructions: A massive jam in the rolling brush (like a thick piece of string or a coin) can cause the motor to "stall." When a motor stalls, it draws excessive current (Amps), which can trick the motherboard into thinking the battery has failed, causing an immediate shutdown. Remove the brush roll and clear all hair from the end-caps.
- Hard Reset the Logic Board: Turn the power switch OFF. Press and hold the "Clean" button for 15 seconds while the power is off. Then, flip the power switch back to ON. This clears the volatile memory and can resolve software glitches that cause false power-off triggers.
- Check for Wheel Obstructions: Lift the robot and manually spin the side wheels. If one wheel is locked or grinding, the motor draw will spike during the initial "startup" rotation, triggering the safety shutdown. Clean out any debris lodged in the wheel axles.

- Avoid using abrasive scouring pads on the charging contacts, as scratching the plating can lead to faster oxidation and intermittent charging.
- Always keep the charging dock plugged into a wall outlet that is not controlled by a light switch to ensure the battery remains topped off; letting the G30 hit 0% charge frequently will permanently degrade the battery chemistry.
- If you live in a very dusty environment, wipe the charging contacts weekly to prevent the "false charge" phenomenon.
