shark detect pro is stuck in one room and won't go back to its base, just wanders the perimeter

— asked by Morgan

Quick answer: The robot has lost its map and cannot locate the base station. This occurs after a factory reset, moving the base, or a significant change in room landmarks.

Diagnosis

The robot has lost its map and cannot locate the base station. This occurs after a factory reset, moving the base, or a significant change in room landmarks.

How to Fix It

Manually return the robot to the base. In the SharkClean app, go to Map & Positioning. Select 'Update My Smart Map'. Run a full cleaning cycle without interruptions to allow the robot to rebuild its map. Keep the base station in its permanent location.

If That Didn't Work

Ensure the base is plugged in directly to a wall outlet, not a power strip. Clear a direct path of at least 3 feet in front and 1.5 feet on each side of the base.

Heads Up

Do not move the base station after a map is saved. Moving it will cause navigation failures.
