Diagnosis
The laser distance sensor (LDS) on top is obstructed or stuck. Error 1 means the robot can't create a map of the room.
How to Fix It
- Power the robot off and back on.
- Check the rotating LDS module on top. Manually spin it with your finger to ensure it rotates freely and isn't blocked by hair or debris.
- Wipe the clear plastic window of the LDS with a dry microfiber cloth.
- Clear any tall, thin objects (like floor lamp bases, plant stands) from the robot's immediate path and restart the job.
If That Didn't Work
The sensor might be mechanically failed. Listen for a faint grinding or whirring noise from the LDS when it boots. If it's silent or sounds strained, a hardware replacement is likely needed.
Heads Up
Never place the robot in direct, bright sunlight. The LDS can get 'blinded' and throw this error until you move it to a shaded spot.
