Diagnosis
The vacuum is failing to make a good electrical connection with the charging pins on the dock. The most common cause is dirty or corroded pins on the base station or the robot's contacts.
How to Fix It
- Unplug the dock from power. Let the robot sit off the dock.
- Use a dry cotton swab or soft cloth to thoroughly clean the four circular metal charging pins on the front of the dock. Scrub any visible greenish corrosion or dust.
- Flip the robot over and clean the two corresponding charging contact pads on its underside.
- Plug the dock back in and manually place the robot on the dock, ensuring it's centered. The error should clear if the connection is restored.
If That Didn't Work
The dock itself might be faulty. Try using a different power outlet and check the cable for damage. As a last resort, a factory reset of the robot (hold Home and Power buttons for 10 seconds) can clear a glitch causing the false error.
Heads Up
Moisture from the mop pads or spills can accelerate corrosion on those pins. Keep the dock area dry and clean the pins every few weeks as preventative maintenance.
