i set up the no-mop zones in the app but the vacuum just ignores them and drags the wet mop over my rugs anyway

Quick answer: The robot's location tracking (LIDAR/sensors) has drifted, so its internal map is no longer aligned with your physical space. The zones are in the right spot on the wrong map.

Diagnosis

The robot's location tracking (LIDAR/sensors) has drifted, so its internal map is no longer aligned with your physical space. The zones are in the right spot on the wrong map.

How to Fix It

  • Delete your current saved map. In the Dreame app, go to the map settings and select 'Delete Map' or 'Restore Map'.
  • Perform a full, uninterrupted cleaning run with the robot starting from the dock. Let it explore the entire home to create a new, accurate map.
  • Once the new map is saved and labeled, redraw your no-mop zones. This almost always fixes the issue.

If That Didn't Work

Ensure the robot's sensors (the LIDAR turret on top and the cliff sensors underneath) are clean and unobstructed. A dirty sensor can cause positioning errors. Also, make sure the firmware is up to date in the app.

Heads Up

Moving the dock or major furniture can cause map drift. If you relocate the dock, it's best to delete and remap. The 'Quick Mapping' function is less reliable for final zone placement than a full cleaning run.
