DIAGNOSIS The compressor is overworking due to insufficient ventilation or an incorrect thermostat setting. Ambient room temperature above 110°F will cause this.
FIX Verify the unit's location. You need a minimum of 2 inches of clearance on all sides, especially the back, for heat dissipation. Check the thermostat dial. For beverages, the optimal range is 40-50°F. Set it to 45°F and wait 24 hours for stabilization.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The issue is likely a dirty condenser coil. Unplug the unit. Access the rear grille. Use a vacuum brush attachment to remove dust and pet hair from the black coil fins. Restore power.
HEADS UP Loading the unit with warm or room-temperature drinks creates a massive heat load. Always pre-chill beverages before loading if possible. The compressor will run continuously until that heat is removed.
